Anne Baigent

Annie’s PhD research explores the transition to regenerative agriculture on the wellbeing of Taranaki farmers.  This is informed through her experiences as a mental health professional, church minister and climate activist. Across Aotearoa and particularly in Taranaki the adverse impact on te taiao of industrialised farming is well-documented, as is the poor mental health of farmers across many western countries. This study aims to better understand how farmer wellbeing is impacted when farming practices and philosophy change to enhance the wellbeing of the whenua. The research is supervised by Professor Tim McCreanor and Doctor Ken Taiapa.
