Rereahu - Ngāti Kauwhata - Ngati Kahungunu ki Wairarapa

Isla is an occupational therapist and is currently undertaking her PhD with Whariki.  Her research examines western theories and notions of everyday occupations as shaped and produced by colonisation.  The research aims to reveal taken for granted colonial notions of daily occupations and privilege exploration of a Kaupapa Maori theory of everyday occupations as accessible spaces of healing and connections to kaitiakitanga.

The research is supervised by Professor Helen Moewaka Barnes, Professor Tim McCreanor and Dr Teah Carlson.
