Dr Katarina Heramoana Simon, PhD.
Doctor Simon is a full-time carer of two chronic mental health sons, a registered nurse and a doctoral candidate recently enrolled in a third PhD titled ‘Investigating medicinal cannabis and homegrown tobacco - three Maori communities (Kennedy Bay, Kawhia and Waitahanui).
She brings an inter-disciplinary background, including previous research on rheumatic fever, environmental sustainability, mental health, and addiction. Her speciality area is modernisation theory and best practice applications for Maori development.
