dr Octavia Calder-Dawe, BA, BSc (Hons), PhD
Octavia is an interdisciplinary social scientist with expertise in qualitative and participatory methodologies. Trained in critical social psychology, she works from a critical sociocultural feminist perspective. Octavia’s research interests are focussed on supporting young people’s wellbeing, particularly in relation gender inequalities, sexism and discourses of masculinity and femininity. Currently, she is a collaborator on a project working with young people with a range of physical disabilities, exploring how the built environment and social attitudes affect mobility and inclusion in daily life.
