Renee Wikaire

Renee Wikaire (Te Kapotai, Ngā Puhi nui tonu, Ngāti Whātua) is currently undertaking her PhD with Whariki. Her research is a co-designed project with Te Kapotai hapū and seeks the reclamation of wāhine Māori voices through exploring mana wahine with Te Kapotai. The aim of the project is to hold a space to acknowledge intergenerational mātauranga and experiences for healing processes to take place in the pursuit of mauri ora (wellbeing). Renee is the recipient of a Health Research Council of New Zealand Māori Health Research PhD Scholarship. 

 The research is supervised by Professor Helen Moewaka Barnes, Doctor Angela Moewaka Barnes and Doctor Lily George.
